Easy to approach thanks to their varietal and/or geographical identification, this category comprises 10 wines : Aligoté, Chardonnay, Chardonnay Côte Chalonnaise, Pinot Noir, Pinot Noir Côte Chalonnaise, Mâcon Rouge, Mâcon Rosé, Mâcon Villages, Sauvignon Blanc Saint Bris andPetit Chablis.

To help understand, and therefore appreciate, the full range of styles expressed by the terroirs, Blason de Bourgogne has organised its wines into 4 categories :
 

The Classics : produced throughout most of the region, these are the entry point to the greater  Burgundies. The Ambassadors : produced from a more limited territory, they represent the typical style of their terroirs. Some are household names while others await discovery. Within this category we find 7 wines : Chablis, Hautes-Côtes de Nuits, Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, Mercurey, Montagny, Saint Véran and Rully.
 

The Great Wines: these are the icons of Burgundy. Whether Premier Cru or produced from very strict selection, they have given the region its reputation. This category comprises 4 wines : Chablis 1er Cru, Beaune, Montagny Vieilles Vignes and Pouilly Fuissé.
 

The Sparkling Wines: these Crémants de Bourgogne are enjoying rising success due to their excellent value-for-money and to their noble origins. In this category we find 4 wines : Réserve, Blanc de noirs, Rosé and Extra-Brut.
